The Technology Initiatives and Resources section facilitates the development, implementation and modifications of the K-12 technology infrastructure which includes the award winning K-12 compressed interactive videoconferencing network. This section provides leadership, training and support for the development of state and local school district technology plans. Technology Initiatives and Resources staff are the state coordinators of the Arkansas E-Rate Program and provide technology infusion training and resources to schools, educational cooperatives, and Arkansas Department of Education staff.
TeacherTube
TeacherTube is a site on which to host, tag and share instructional videos. The goal of TeacherTube is to provide an on-line community for sharing instructional videos. The site seeks to fill a need for a more educationally-focused, safe venue for teachers, schools and home learners.
Officially launched on March 6, 2007, TeacherTube provides anytime, anywhere professional development, with teachers teaching teachers. As well, TeacherTube is a site where teachers can post videos designed for students to view in order to learn a concept or skill. The site currently contains over 300,000 educational videos.
